What is the difference between free school meals and universal free school meals?
UIFSM = Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) provides funding for all government funded schools to offer free meals to pupils in reception, year 1, and year 2 only. UIFSM are not the same as Free School Meals (FSM). FSM= This is via application only and applies to ALL school years.
From 1st April 2024 Free School meals cost £2.81 per child
