The Impact of Our Sports Premium
Our school uses the Sports Premium to give every pupil more opportunities to enjoy physical activity, take part in sport and develop healthy, active habits. The funding supports high-quality PE lessons, a wider range of sporting activities and opportunities for pupils to represent the school.
We have seen a positive impact on pupils’ participation in PE and sport. More pupils are becoming involved in clubs, competitions and active lunchtime activities, including children who may not previously have chosen to take part. Pupils are developing greater confidence, teamwork and resilience, while learning the importance of regular exercise and fair play.
The Sports Premium has also supported improvements in attainment in PE and sport. Through well-planned lessons and varied activities, pupils are developing their physical skills, understanding of rules and ability to work effectively with others. Staff are increasingly confident in teaching PE, helping pupils to make steady progress and achieve well across the curriculum.
We are committed to sustaining this improvement beyond the current funding period. We will continue to provide staff training, share effective teaching approaches and use assessment to identify pupils’ needs. Our PE curriculum will remain broad, inclusive and progressive, with regular opportunities for pupils to practise and apply their skills.
We will also maintain links with local sporting organisations and schools, where appropriate, to extend participation and competition opportunities. Pupil voice, participation levels and PE attainment will be reviewed regularly so that we can celebrate progress, identify next steps and ensure that all children continue to benefit from an active lifestyle.
