Careers and aspirations
At Stephenson Way Academy and Nursery School, we aim to instill in our pupils the belief that they can do and be anything they set their minds upon. The 8 'WILL READ' statements which make up our school vision has 'aspirations' at its heart.
As part of the Primary Careers Benchmark programme, SWANS have implemented whole-school plans identifying opportunities for pupils to learn about and experience a range of careers during their time with us.
We provide opportunities for children to experience Further and Higher Education visits, access real-life work places and engage in a range of virtual meetings with a variety of employers from Early Years to Year 6.
Our aim is to embed careers learning firmly within our curriculum, providing children and families with the knowledge and skills to enable their careers aspirations to become reality in the future.
