4. Safer Recruitment

At SWANS we are committed to safer recruitment to help keep children safe. All staff and volunteers are recruited in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance.

We ensure:

• Safeguarding is considered at every stage of recruitment
• Enhanced DBS and relevant checks are completed before appointment
• At least one trained member of each interview panel
• Clear safeguarding induction for all new staff and volunteers
• Regular safeguarding training for all staff

All adults working in school are expected to share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
