SWANS 60 (BOOKFLIX)
To engage our children with reading, we have set all our pupils a BOOKFLIX challenge. 60 books to read before you leave Year 6! The books have been voted for by children and staff then thoughtfully selected by leaders to ensure a varied diet of genres, topics, authors and themes spanning from nursery to year 6. A striking display of books are present in both halls and the foyer of school and classrooms have posters and menu’s displaying the book titles. All staff and children have a BOOKFLIX passport to ‘tick off’ the books they read, following them through school and challenging them to read all 60. For every SWANS 60 book read, children receive an additional 2 raffle tickets and a prize will be rewarded to any child who completes their passport, reading all 60. Opportunities to read are given throughout the day, including ‘Early Morning Reading’ sessions and children are encouraged to leave book recommendations for their peers.
