At Stephenson Way Academy and Nursery School, we believe that excellent attendance is a key factor in every child's success. Regular attendance helps children to build confidence, develop strong friendships, make good progress in their learning and achieve their full potential.
Every day in school matters. Lessons build upon previous learning, and even short periods of absence can mean children miss important teaching, experiences and opportunities. Good attendance also helps children develop positive habits that will support them throughout their education and future working lives.
We work closely with families to promote and support good attendance, recognising that parents and carers play a vital role in ensuring their child attends school regularly and arrives on time each day. Our aim is to create a culture where attendance is valued, celebrated and understood as a shared responsibility.
We monitor attendance carefully and provide support where needed to help remove barriers that may affect a child's ability to attend school. Together, we can ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to learn, thrive and succeed.

Attendance Support
If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance, or are finding it difficult to ensure they attend school regularly and arrive on time, please get in touch with Mr Hollingworth or Mrs Hunter. We are always happy to listen, offer support and work with you to find ways to improve attendance.
We understand that there can be many different reasons why a child’s attendance may become a concern. With the right support, positive improvements can be made, and we are here to help families every step of the way.
